Some ferret raisers breed for the lucrative research market. Inbreeding is common because it is desired for research projects.

This practice could make animals less vigorous and possibly affect animal health and life span. Sadly, some foreign ferrets are raised for fur. Fur raisers from foreign countries are a big concern because there are no regulations governing health factors. You could be exposing your family and pets to harmful diseases. These concerns should be strongly considered when choosing a pet ferret.

Before you buy a ferret, ASK THESE QUESTIONS!

bullet

bullet

Ask to see a copy of the guarantee and request the guarantee be explained to you in detail?

bullet

Ask if the ferrets are from a "pets only" farm or a breeder who raises the ferrets for research or fur?
